Distribute studio quality stereo and infrared signals anywhere in the home or studio using category 5 cable and Knoll's UTP Transmission Systems. Signals can be sent from a few feet to up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) of cable with no discernible audio distortion and better performance than the more expensive, specialized "designer" cables. The Knoll transmission system works better than conventional "balun" systems because the Knoll transmission system relies on active electronics rather than transformers that can saturate and are not as linear as active systems. The stereo transmission system comprises: a Send Unit for transmitting audio and receiving infrared signals and a Receive Unit for receiving stereo signals and sending infrared signals. The send and receive units are available in an in-wall Decora version or mounted in a black enclosure which can be mixed or matched as desired. Power for the send and receive units are 12 VDC power supply (we suggest using our PS1202) and only one supply is needed for both the send and receive.
