The Knoll VS150im is a twelve-position in-wall mountable stereo speaker volume control with impedance matching capability. From two to thirty-two pairs of speakers can be safely driven from one stereo amplifier using an equal number of VS150im’s. Separate impedance matching components are not required. The Knoll WT6 one stereo input to six stereo output connection strip is available to neaten the wiring of larger systems.

The VS150im stereo volume control features two multi-laminate coils designed for performance at an affordable price. Using make before break switching topology eliminates pops and click while adjusting the volume. The wall plate is a strong but aesthetically pleasing plastic and metal two piece design with a matching knob. The knob and plate are easily paintable to match most decors.

Installation is fast and easy as the detachable high current connector can be installed long before trim out. The VS150im takes a single gang and fits in almost any junction box or ring. The connector can accept 10-24 gauge wire.

A rotary knob version is available, model VC150im.

Wire Requirements:

Speaker wire for the VS150im should be copper, minimum 18 gauge. Runs longer than 33' (10 m) should be 16 gauge wire. Two wire pairs (left and right) are run from the stereo amplifier or receiver to the VS150im volume control, then one wire pair continues to each speaker. VS150im volume controls can be daisy chained together. When "pre-wiring", leave an extra 3' (1 m) at each end to allow easy component installation.
